Question: I installed a new floppy drive; now the drive light always on.
 
Answer: (See Diagnostics manual - page 3-28)

Panasonic drives do not use a shrouded connector, which often leads to the connector being plugged in upside down. The cable must be plugged in with the cable key faces UP or opposite the keyed PCP.

Any disks inserted in an incorrectly installed drive will likely be ruined.
