Question: Local modem is down.
 
Answer: Check the PC site file setup.
Is the COM port connected? Are external LEDs lit?
Make sure it is an approved Gasboy modem. (Hayes compatible - currently supplying Boca modems). Otherwise, try connecting to the site with terminal emulation software, such as Window's HyperTerminal or ProComm.

If the site has a dial in modem, determine whether it can be accessed remotely.

If none of this is possible, then there is a hardware problem in the system or a bad phone line. Consult modem and/or hardware documentation.
